The Scout has been designed to answer the question "I want a short & fat board but I don't want to sacrifice performance". The result is a more traditional shape with a wider platform that has been designed to allow you to surf bottomless powder like a pro and charge the resort at full speed.
When designing the Scout we started with the nose shape from our Archetype Series powder slayer and worked backwards. This wider shape combined with our Hover Camber profile acts like the hull of a ship, keeping you on top of even the deepest soft snow with ease. Unlike the Archetype though we kept this width profile along the whole length. Just 12-14mm of taper from nose to tail (depending on size) keeps the Scout feeling rock solid on the hard stuff, allowing you to lay down trenches and carve like a pro. Finishing up at the tail is a more traditional, lower profile shape with a notch cut in. This helps drop the tail when surfing the soft stuff but also keeps the ride super stable on hard snow. This versatility across all terrain was always our aim and makes the Scout the perfect companion for resort domination.
New for 1819 is our redesigned Smoothride Sidewall. This builds upon our original award winning technology and helps reduce our overall impact on the environment. A more efficient manufacturing process cuts waste without sacrificing the impact and vibration absorbing properties, helping to provide the smoothest ride possible. Fibreglass layups are also enhanced through the use of tri-axial glass that includes a pre-cured layer above the core for more response and torsional rigidity without adding weight. And of course it's all finished off with the Channel mounting system for infinite stance adjustment.
This board is amazing! I've only been able to get out on it once, but it feels significantly better than my previous board. Even though it's not a true twin, switch riding is still a breeze. It's playful and perfect for side hits on the groomers. I haven't had a chance to try it in powder, but the season is still young
Finally a sick board to fit my build. I’m 5’8 with a size 12 boot. Yeah I’m a freak Momma made me this way. Thanx Endeavor. Perfect board for the Sierras. It shreds.
At 6’1 and 160 pounds, the 160 Scout is absolute heaven. Floats through powder while even when set back as far as possible for my stance width, the tail has enough pop for jumps and buttering. Whether I’m hunting for powder, weaving through trees, hitting natural features, or trying to break my speed P.R, this board seems to be able to do everything I need.
I'm 120 pounds, 5 foot 3 and ordered a 152 size. Really float on powder and good on grooming as well. Like it a lot! :)
