The Clout is our offering designed to please even the most technical and demanding of riders. Whether you ride 10 days or 180 days a season, the Clout will be your trusty steed and will be there with you to deliver a heavy blow to everything you put in its path. A powerful blend of technology and design results in a package we’re proud to put our name on.
The Clout has the same versatile, freeride geometry and profile as our Good Wood award winning BOD but gets the volume turned up to 11 once you peel back the lid. Our 3D camber profile combines traditional camber with a subtle 3D nose and tail with raised contacts points that gives stability and performance on hard snow with playfulness and float in soft snow. Dig a little deeper and you’ll see our Poplar and Paulownia blended wood core which has been specially selected for its lightweight yet strong properties. This produces a powerful, precise and balanced ride with a consistent and predictable flex pattern. A brand new carbon layup sees 2 parallel beams run to the nose and tail before turning out 45 degrees at the contact points. This provides the Clout with power and pop along its length and rapid edge to edge response when laying it over.
New for 1819 is our redesigned Smoothride Sidewall. This builds upon our original award winning technology and helps reduce our overall impact on the environment. A more efficient manufacturing process cuts waste without sacrificing the impact and vibration absorbing properties, helping to provide the smoothest ride possible. Fibreglass layups are also enhanced through the use of tri-axial glass that includes a pre-cured layer above the core for more response and torsional rigidity without adding weight. And of course it’s all finished off with the Channel mounting system for infinite stance adjustment.
2 months till I can ride this board. Looking forward to getting out on it!
Never ridden anything this short 149, so send me another review questionnaire in 2020 and I’ll have something to say:) Thanks 🙏🏻 B
Super nice board, high quality. I only wish it to be available a little longer (166ish), it feel a little short and chattery in 162cm) for my (not so light) weight especially while riding agressively at high speed on hard snow! Maybe i'm just not used to the board shape after only a few outing with it, we'll see.
Anyway, raised contact point are super fun in pow and turn initiation is super easy everywhere. It will be my go-to board for having fun with the kids, and playing around, instead on my other super stiff (!!!) directional board that i will keep for days when things get serious!
I already own too many snowboards but I felt compelled to buy this board and I must say I absolutely love it. My typical all-mountain board is a custom X but it is gathering dust now that I have the Clout. I love the true twin shape and the 3D camber is great, makes spinning from regular to switch feel super easy and smooth. Definitely saved me from catching an edge on more than one occasion when I was riding switch a bit too fast. Holds an edge super well. Allows you to charge the whole mountain equally well in both regular and switch stance. Handles powder surprising well but if it is a blower day I'll definitely be reaching for my Archetype which is the best pow board I've ever ridden. The graphic on the Clout is very cool and understated. If you are looking for a true twin that you can charge the whole mountain then the Clout is your answer.
Awesome feeling on pow, great control on the groomer, a reall all around board!!
This is great for everything I do: carving on groomers, powder, jibbing around. I also teach on it so have kids riding over the board all the time. The top sheet is really strong, as is the sidewall, and I've had only small scratches from my students which are hardly noticeable.
Really stiff, took me a little while to get used to it but once I did I felt my Salomon Assassin had nothing to it.
Good snap - the ends of turns whip underneath you and ollies are huge
Slices through powder like a warm knife through butter.
I'm halfway through my 3rd full season with it and it's still as strong as ever.
